Hi! I’m Amira, a psychology graduate with experience supporting children and youth with a range of developmental, intellectual, and learning needs.
I believe students learn best when support is patient, individualized, and adapted to the way they learn. My sessions focus on helping students build confidence, understand their schoolwork, develop effective study habits, and become more independent learners.
For younger students, I offer an initial consultation with a parent or guardian so I can learn more about the student’s strengths, challenges, learning style, school needs, and goals. This also gives families the opportunity to ask questions and determine whether I am a good fit.
Depending on the student, sessions may include help with homework and assignments, breaking larger tasks into manageable steps, organization and time management, study strategies, test preparation, reading and writing support, academic goal-setting, and strategies for staying focused and engaged during schoolwork.
I have a particular interest in supporting students who benefit from additional structure, patience, repetition, or individualized instruction.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students can feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing skills they can use independently at school and at home.
