About Autumn
I hold a Bachelor's degree in History, specializing in religious history, with a minor in philosophy. Alongside my degree, I earned a Museum Studies Certificate. Throughout my academic journey, I tutored students regularly, and I am currently an educator serving as the Museum Curator and Public Historian at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche in St. Augustine, FL. My role involves writing and giving tours, educating visitors about the property's rich history, and creating exhibits that inform and engage visitors.

I approach education with a classical method. While I cover the topics and information you need for tests, projects, and essays, I believe that to truly enjoy learning, we must also explore why these topics matter in our lives. Not all subjects will have a direct application to everyday life (most people won't need to know that Pedro Menendez founded St. Augustine in 1565!), but we can draw valuable lessons from these people and events to enrich our lives and apply those insights to any profession you choose to pursue.
I’m not providing a sample lesson plan because my approach is entirely flexible, tailored to each student. I will discuss with the student (and parents, if requested) what they need from me, what their interests are, and we can plan our lessons moving forward.
I work best with high school and college students, but if a younger student with a love of learning is interested, we can certainly discuss it. I have experience teaching kids, teenagers, and adults, primarily in a museum setting.
