About Ben
Ben Stewart is a jazz pianist from Wellington, New Zealand, currently based in London. He released his debut EP in 2021, featuring New York based musicians Hamish Smith and Brad Kang. He is ¼ of the jazz-rock band HUMMUCIDE, which has been featured on the State of Jazz and Jazz UK playlists and currently has nearly 250,000 total streams on Spotify. Ben toured extensively with different artists throughout New Zealand, and has played at prestigious London venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and Brick Lane Jazz festival, and as a sideman with Myele Manzanza. He is currently working on a new body of work featuring some of London’s top musicians.

Ben can teach the basics of piano and jazz, all the way up to composition and more advanced jazz techniques. Ben has a Honours degree in Jazz performance on Piano, and has a large amount of live and studio session experience. He can also teach production in Logic Pro X, and how to create jazz-influenced songs from start to finish. Ben typically teaches 45-60 minute lessons.
