About Alicia
What I love most about teaching is being able to watch a student grow — not only in their English skills, but also in their confidence.
Every student is different, and I really enjoy getting to know each student and discovering what makes them excited to learn. I love creating lessons around their interests, finding activities that keep them engaged, and turning things they find difficult into something they can feel proud of.
For me, teaching is not just about getting the right answers. It’s about creating a comfortable space where students can ask questions, make mistakes, try again and realise, “I can do this!”
Seeing that confidence develop is what makes teaching so rewarding for me, and it’s what keeps me passionate about what I do. ️

Hi! I’m your English/ Afrikaans teacher
Learning English / Afrikaans shouldn’t feel like sitting through the same lesson as everyone else. Your goals, personality, interests and learning style are unique and your lessons should be too.
I’m a qualified English teacher with almost 4 years of teaching experience, and I’ve had the pleasure of teaching students of all ages and different levels. Over the years, I’ve learnt that there is no single “perfect” way to teach English. What works wonderfully for one student may not work at all for another.
That’s why I build my lessons around YOU.
Before planning a lesson, I consider what you want to achieve, where you are currently at, what you find difficult, and just as importantly, what you enjoy. Whether you need help with speaking, grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary, school English, conversational English or simply becoming more confident, we can work towards it together.
Your goals guide our lessons.
Your interests help make lessons engaging.
Your strengths and challenges shape what we practice.
Your voice matters — you won't just sit and listen to me talk.
For younger learners, I love bringing lessons to life with games, stories, pictures, challenges and activities that make learning feel like fun rather than homework. For teens and adults, I can adapt lessons around real-life conversations, interests, school or work, and the areas of English you want to improve.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes. Mistakes are part of learning, and my goal is to create a supportive space where you can try, speak, ask questions and grow in confidence.
No two students are the same, so no two lessons should be exactly the same.
