About Laura
I am a fully qualified English teacher, currently working at home on a design and writing business with my husband.
I worked in secondary schools for 5+ years and loved working with students of all ages. During this time I became Assistant Subject Lead with responsibility for KS5 English.
I’m looking to continue my teaching and work one-on-one with students again, as I especially miss this aspect of my work.
There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grow in confidence and succeed; I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.

I take a caring approach to lessons, getting to know my students’ strengths and areas for improvement as well as any unique needs they may have such as English as a second language, or additional learning needs.
I like to build in creative writing to make learning engaging and to solidify new concepts and topics. I provide ample opportunity for self-reflection in order to build your confidence in the build up to your exams and / or coursework.
Overall I believe every student has the capability to achieve with the right support and guidance.
