About Maya

I am a therapist with more than 20 years of experience working with students who have learning challenges. I speak and write four languages, and teaching French has always been close to my heart. I enjoy working with both beginners and advanced learners, helping each student grow at their own pace while building confidence and a love for language.

About the lesson

For beginner learners, the focus is on developing essential vocabulary, basic sentence structures, pronunciation, and comprehension through visuals, repetition, real‑life contexts, and guided practice. Students gain confidence using French in practical, everyday situations.
For advanced learners, lessons emphasize expanding vocabulary, refining grammar, improving fluency, and developing reading, writing, and conversational skills. Instruction is enriched with authentic materials, discussions, and activities that promote critical thinking and deeper language use.
Across all levels, lessons are individualized, strengths‑based, and scaffolded to reduce anxiety and support success. The goal is not only to improve language skills but also to foster confidence, independence, and a genuine enjoyment of learning French.

Maya just started teaching my youngest girl who suffers from learning difficulties. She’s 7 years old now and being bilingual is already a big challenge for her.
With the help of Maya she was able to start loving the language and she gets all excited prior to her French class!!

I have a child who has been diagnosed with ADHD and used to hate french because of the complicated rules until Maya showed up and had this amazing approach with him . She uses a lot of games and new strategies that not only helped him improve his French Language but to start loving the language too!

We loved having Maya tutoring our kids. Not only she is passionate and dedicated to her mission but she also goes above and beyond teaching the language integrating the history and the French culture into her lessons making the approach very appealing and fun for learners. Maya was always on time pouring her heart and mind into each session. Kids loved her and couldn’t wait for their upcoming lesson. Thank you Maya!
