About Sophie
I am a qualified secondary school maths teacher with experience supporting a wide range of students and ability levels. I am passionate about helping students feel more confident in maths and believe that everyone can succeed with the right support and explanations. I enjoy working one-to-one with students, as it allows me to adapt my teaching to suit their individual needs and learning style. I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding at their own pace.

My lessons are calm, supportive, and carefully structured to help students build confidence as well as strong mathematical understanding. As a qualified secondary maths teacher, I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, whether they require help filling gaps in knowledge, improving exam technique, or feeling less anxious about maths. I break down topics step by step, using clear explanations and plenty of guided practice. Lessons are interactive and focused, with time to ask questions and revisit tricky concepts. I regularly check understanding and adapt my teaching style to suit each learner, helping students feel more confident, capable, and prepared for assessments.
