About Monica
I'm a qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching both Year 6 and Year 1, giving me a strong understanding of how children learn at different stages. I believe in the power of reading—not just for academic success, but for sparking curiosity and imagination. My approach is student-centered and flexible; I tailor learning to each child’s interests to keep them motivated and engaged. I love incorporating topics students are passionate about—whether that's sports, stories, or something unique to them. Outside of teaching, I enjoy being active, especially playing AFL, basketball, and netball, as well as spending time with family, friends, and a good book. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel confident and excited to learn.

I use explicit instruction, scaffolded learning, and interactive activities to make lessons engaging and targeted to each student’s needs. I regularly check for understanding through assessment for learning and offer take-home tasks or homework if requested. Lesson lengths are flexible—30, 45, or 60 minutes—depending on the student’s age and focus. I’m a qualified full-time primary school teacher with 12 months of tutoring experience, specialising in NAPLAN preparation. My lessons are designed for primary students aged 5–12 who need support, enrichment, or assessment readiness.
