I believe every student learns best when lessons are tailored to their individual needs and learning style. My teaching approach is interactive and supportive: I break down complex ideas into manageable steps, use examples and visual aids to strengthen understanding, and encourage active questioning so students feel confident applying what they learn. Where relevant, I also use practice questions, exam-style tasks, and memory strategies to build both knowledge and exam technique. A typical lesson lasts 30 minutes, though I can adapt this depending on the student’s focus and requirements. I usually begin with a short recap to reinforce prior learning, then introduce new material with plenty of opportunities for discussion and practice. We finish with a short review and clear next steps, so students leave with confidence in what they’ve achieved. I usually ask students for a brief before our sessions on the criteria they would like to work on. I always ensure students begin tutoring with expressing to me what they enjoy, dislike, are confident with and feel they need more support with in order to target specific areas of content. Qualifications and Experience I am currently completing an MSc in Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London, with a strong academic background in cognitive science, education, and research methods. I have worked in education for eight years alongside my study. I am currently attaining a PGCE and QTS in a London primary school, supporting whole-class teaching, delivering interventions, and working one-to-one with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). This experience has given me excellent skills in adapting lessons for different abilities and making learning inclusive, accessible, and engaging. Who My Lessons Are For I tutor students from early reading and spelling, SATs, Key Stage 2, and A-levels specialising in Psychology, Maths and English. I am particularly experienced in supporting learners with SEN (including autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs), as well as those who need extra support building confidence in their studies.
