About Charlotte
Photography has always been more than just a subject for me — it’s a way of seeing the world and expressing creativity. I became a teacher because I love helping others discover that same excitement when they capture a great image or master a new technique. Seeing students grow in confidence, whether they are complete beginners or already developing their style, is what motivates me. I like to see people succeed. I hold a PGCE teaching qualification and a Master’s in Photography, which allows me to bring both academic knowledge and professional practice into my lessons. I’ve taught creative subjects to students of all ages and backgrounds, and I pride myself on being supportive, patient, and adaptable to each learner’s needs. As both a teacher and a photographer, I understand the challenges students face — whether it’s getting to grips with camera settings, building a portfolio, or simply finding the confidence to take creative risks. My aim is to make learning photography approachable, enjoyable, and rewarding, while also maintaining high standards in every lesson. When you learn with me, you can expect a structured yet flexible approach, clear explanations, and a tutor who genuinely cares about your progress.

My photography lessons are designed to be tailored to each student’s goals. I combine technical training with creative exploration, so that learners not only master their camera but also develop their own unique photographic style. I typically begin by assessing your current knowledge and what you want to achieve — whether that’s learning how to use your DSLR or improving your composition, mastering lighting, or developing editing skills in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Lessons usually last one hour, but I can adapt depending on your needs and learning pace. I bring both academic knowledge and professional experience to my tutoring through PGCE & Masters qualifications, as well as having practice in the freelance world of photography. I’ve taught a range of creative & marketing subjects. My lessons are suitable for all levels—from beginners picking up a camera for the first time to more advanced learners looking to refine their technique or prepare a portfolio. I’ve taught students of many ages, including teenagers studying for qualifications, adult learners exploring photography as a hobby, and aspiring professionals building their skills. Most importantly, I aim to create a supportive, relaxed environment where students feel confident experimenting and asking questions. Photography should be both a skill and a joy, and my lessons reflect that balance.
