About Jelka
With over three years of teaching experience and a background as a qualified translator with a Master’s degree, I help learners at all levels - from first-time test takers to those aiming for high band scores - approach the IELTS exam with clarity and purpose.
I’ve taken the IELTS myself three times (twice Academic, once General Training) for university admissions and immigration purposes, and have consistently achieved high band scores in the C1–C2 range. This firsthand experience means I understand the pressure, the pacing, and the strategies that make a real difference.

Preparing for the IELTS exam can feel overwhelming - but it doesn’t have to be. I offer a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment where you can build the skills and confidence you need to succeed.
Teaching methodology:
Targeted skill-building:I focus on the four key areas—Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, using real IELTS materials and proven strategies.
Compassion: I support students in managing test anxiety and self-doubt, helping them stay motivated and resilient.
Personalized feedback: I provide detailed, constructive feedback on writing and speaking tasks to help you improve with each session.
Strategic practice: We work on time management, question types, and test techniques to help you feel prepared and in control on exam day.
A typical IELTS lesson:
1. Check-in: Brief review of goals, progress, or questions
2. Skill Focus: Targeted work on one or two IELTS components
3. Practice task: Timed or guided exam-style activity
4. Feedback & strategy: Review of performance and next steps
