About Luna
I am a dedicated reading intervention tutor with nearly 10 years of experience helping students strengthen their reading skills and build confidence. I specialize in supporting elementary students who need help with phonics, decoding, word recognition, spelling, fluency, and reading comprehension.
My background includes working with students who feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or behind in reading. I understand how important it is for children to feel successful, so I create lessons that are structured, encouraging, and individualized to each learner’s needs.
I believe reading support should be clear, patient, and positive. My goal is to help students understand how reading works, feel more confident in their abilities, and make steady progress over time. Families can expect a professional, supportive tutoring experience focused on helping each student grow as a reader.

Hi, I’m Luna, a reading intervention tutor with nearly 10 years of experience helping students build stronger reading skills and confidence. My approach is patient, structured, and individualized. I focus on helping students develop the foundational skills they need for reading, including phonemic awareness, decoding, word recognition, spelling, fluency, and comprehension.
My teaching method is based on explicit, step-by-step instruction. I break reading skills into manageable parts, model each skill clearly, and give students guided practice until they feel more confident. I also use positive encouragement, repetition, and multisensory techniques to help students strengthen their memory for letters, sounds, and words.
A typical lesson may include a quick review of previously learned skills, targeted phonics or word-reading practice, spelling support, fluency practice, and reading connected text. Lessons are adjusted based on the student’s needs, pace, and progress.
What sets me apart is my experience working with struggling readers and my ability to make reading feel less overwhelming. I understand that many students come to tutoring feeling frustrated or discouraged, so I work hard to create a supportive learning environment where students feel safe, capable, and motivated.
My lessons are best for elementary students, especially students in kindergarten through third grade, who need support with early reading, phonics, decoding, fluency, spelling, or reading confidence. I also work well with students who need extra support due to reading difficulties, gaps in foundational skills, or suspected dyslexia.
