About Gabriella
I started learning Spanish in sixth grade, and my dad is Cuban! As a result, I focused more on classes that I took from that time into college. I now have a strong grasp not only of the language, but also of how it is taught in various U.S. schools and the expectations that they will have (even for AP testing).

Lessons vary based on student's age/level, needs, time commitments. I'm available Wednesday through Sunday for a maximum of 2 hours! Below is an example plan.
Wed: 45 min lesson. IF NO EXTERNAL HOMEWORK ALREADY ASSIGNED: 15 min guided practice. Send home with independent practice (ex. conjugation worksheet).
Fri: 15 min practice review and revision. 30 min lesson. INEHAS: 15 min guided practice. Send home with independent practice.
Sun: 15 min practice review and revision. 30 min lesson. 15 min to clarify remaining questions about material, assist with study for upcoming external tests (you've got this!)
I typically divide lessons by these groups:
Grammar/ Sentence Structure
- conjugation (present, imperfect, preterite, conditional, future, subjunctive, past subjunctive) tenses
- when to use el/él, ser/estar, por/para, etc.
- when to use each tense (preterite/imperfect, present/subj)
Vocabulary (family, emotions, descriptions, counting, etc.)
Writing
Reading
Listening

Perfect! Strong grasps of grammar basics demonstrated in first lesson. Was a great fit for our 12 yr old. Made her feel very comfortable and was well prepared with a lesson even during the first session. Also provided lots of extra time. We enjoyed the visit and expect to have her back!
