About Brian
I've known that I want to learn physics ever since I was very young, and I've made it my life's work to help others master this subject. Over my 35+ years of teaching at the college level, I've taught over 10,000 students, and I've received many awards and accolades. Helping others find within themselves the talent to learn and apply physics, helping them discover the wonder of the natural world, gives me real joy.

I have 35+ years of experience helping students develop their problem-solving skills, and I take a very student-centered approach. I believe that everyone can learn and master physics, and I am eager to help students discover this for themselves.
I offer lessons for students at high school and college levels who are taking their first physics course. I am looking for students who are willing to take charge of their education, who are willing to really dig in and work.
I'll start a lesson by letting you talk—tell me what you are finding challenging, where the sticking points are. I'll help review basic concepts, and then we'll dig in to the heart of the matter, helping you figure out how to apply physics concepts to the problems you are solving.
I am happy to help you learn physics because this helps me better understand what students find challenging, and what students find interesting. This will make me a better teacher, and will help me do a better job on future editions of the textbook on which I am co-author.

Details
I am not interested in earning money for tutoring, really. I want to keep my skills sharp, and to learn what things students struggle with. This knowledge will help me as I develop instructional materials. So I put in the smallest number the system would let me do!
