About Teo
I’m a singing tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in Voice. I specialise in helping students prepare for auditions, competitions, and stage performances with confidence and skill. My teaching covers a wide range of styles including Classical, Broadway, Pop-Rock, and Music Theatre. I focus on developing strong diction, expanding vocal range, and improving vocal agility. Choosing the right repertoire is important, and I work closely with each student to find songs that showcase their strengths. Dramatic interpretation is also a key part of my lessons, helping singers bring their performances to life. I’ve had the pleasure of working with school students, drama majors, and adult singers returning to music after a break. Each student receives personalised guidance tailored to their goals and experience level. My approach balances technical skill-building with creative expression. Together, we work on building technique, stage presence, and vocal artistry. I believe every singer has a unique voice that deserves to be heard. My singing methodology helps both ensemble singers and crossover artists master diverse genres like classical, pop, and jazz. For the Church Ensemble Player, I focus on vocal blending, clear diction, and controlled dynamics to fit worship and gospel styles beautifully. The Crossover Artist learns to switch techniques smoothly, adapting tone, pitch control, and phrasing to match classical precision, jazzy flexibility, or pop energy. We emphasise breath support and vocal placement to maintain health across styles. Pitch accuracy is developed through targeted exercises, supported by modern tools like metronomes and pitch training apps for real-time feedback. Using DAWs, students record and review their practice to track progress and identify areas to refine. Musicality is key, so I encourage exploring phrasing and emotional expression unique to each genre. Both personas learn to interpret songs authentically while staying technically sound. This approach builds confidence and versatility for any stage or studio setting. The goal is to create singers who are flexible, expressive, and well-prepared. With consistent practice and tech-supported feedback, students achieve balanced growth and lasting vocal health.
