About JOYEL VARGHESE

Hello, I'm Joyel Varghese, a Renewable Energy postgraduate student with a passion for sustainable development. With extensive knowledge of current research and trends in the field, I have worked on six projects and fortunate enough to win several national and international achievements. My goal is to be an integral part of the fraternity of individuals who have made it their mission to help humankind completely shift to renewable energy by 2050.

As a Project Assistant and Researcher at the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) and Christ University, I worked on various renewable energy projects, including rooftop solar assessment studies, financial implications of RTPV, methodologies for potential assessment of entire cities, and novel nitrate salt mixture composition for concentrated solar thermal power plant with 32% increased efficiency. I also worked as a Project Assistant at CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography, where I contributed to a crucial turning point in just 14 days of the self-conducted ZERO COST experiment.

My accomplishments include winning the International Young Scientist’s Award as the First Runner-up of a 6-month-long competition with 10 stages and 3000 participants overall India and Foreign countries. I was awarded by ISRO chairman for the project “Energy conservation from human body” and developed a real working model for producing electricity from humans directly and indirectly using piezoelectricity and thermoelectric effect. I presented the project at NASA Kennedy Space Centre Cape Canaveral Florida, United States, with a strategic profit plan of 30 years with a 650% return on investment.

With my expertise and experience, I'm confident that I can help students learn and understand renewable energy and sustainable development.
