About Kevin
I am a retired high school teacher. I taught biology and physics for 30 years. I still enjoy talking about my subjects. I was named most influential educator in my school district 14 times by the top 5% of the student body. I am a Woodrow Wilson National Fellow. I was also honored with teacher of the year by my district and by a local university. Most of all, I like working with students.

When I was teaching full time. My method was lab oriented. Meaning, I wanted my students to experience biology behind the textbook. In fact, I only used the book for reference and the occasional assignment. I have high expectations for my students. I expect them to do their own work and be on time with it. Not all my students went on to be biologist, but doing your own work and being on time builds confidence in a student. I do believe all my students, who choose to do this, will be successful in their lives. I can also teach many other high school science classes
