About Eric
My doctoral degree is in physiology and biophysics. My specific interests were in the neural control of respiration and oscillatory neuronal circuits. My medical training includes three board certifications. So I am familiar with rigorous testing and evaluations. I have both clinical and basic science publications and have previous membership in a national honor society.

My approach to tutoring is to first ensure that my students have a strong grasp of basic concepts. Once that grasp is established I then go on to link those concepts into a systems model that enables the student to understand how those concepts integrate into the "big picture" of biological functioning.
For example, a lesson plan on simple neurological reflexes would first start with a solid understanding of the basic neuronal elements of the reflex. I would then go on to demonstrate how those elements connect to make the reflex function. Lastly, I would then illustrate how these simple reflexes connect with one another to enable more complex movements and behaviors.
Having previously tutored and taught both graduate and medical students, I am familiar with the needs of both. With 25 years of clinical experience, I can also relate these to practical everyday clinical applications.
My lessons are for students at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as for medical students.
