• Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  I was 6 years old and trying to figure it out without proper knowledge of reading. But I realized it's quite possible to understand the interface through icons and colors.

• What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  In the 4th Industrial Revelation, BIM technologies and advanced computation/visualization systems will change the game. Nowadays designing a large scaled architectural settlement and visualizing it is not a big deal, so that gives enormous flexibility to architects and engineers.

• Explain your expertise, your interest in it, and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  I focus on developing significant architectural projects with an easy workflow. So just with two or three software, it becomes quite easy to work on complicated projects as a team or as an individual. I am hoping to teach this to the students and professionals to save them from crazy workloads.

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  I am more interested in artists of this era such as Refik Anadol, Alva Noto, and Memo Akten. They use new technologies in out-of-purpose areas. Also some starchitect firms such as ZHA and UNStudio have research groups for new computational and interactive technologies.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  Go simple, then go another simple. They will create complexity at the end.

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I've had many students over 50 years old and I realize nowadays interfaces of the software became extremely simple. I've never done more than 15 lectures with any of my students to finish the basics of any software. So it's easier than it looks from the outside.

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  I make sculptures with architectural design software and 3d printers. Learning those skill sets gives the huge ability to try your ideas in different areas.

• What makes you a Superprof in IT?

  Essentially, I'm a lazy person who works hard to escape from unnecessary workload :)
