About Liam
I am a physics major with an interest in sustainable energy and climate justice. I noticed in a lot of my classes that I was only learning about the science and not how to use it practically. I wanted to focus on putting these complex scientific concepts to use rather than just getting a random job and doing whatever. So I looked into sociology and other fields to understand how to have more scientific autonomy to work on sustainable tech. In my senior year of college I will be writing a thesis on practically implementing wind power in Maine, which will involve both the physics of modeling wind power and optimizing wind turbine power generation but also accounting for social and political variables in order to identify the best areas and communities to build wind farms.

I am academically strong and have experience tutoring math. Currently preparing to TA for an intro physics class next semester. Have experience explaining complex physics concepts to other students. I am patient and have personal experience with a learning disability(adhd) and know the importance of patience in the learning process. I also know the importance of letting students figure out concepts by themselves rather than simply telling them the answer. I will take a gentler approach to guide them without giving away answers.
