About Reece
I am a friendly, reliable and dedicated tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in helping students reach their potential. Having achieved A/A* grades throughout GCSE and A-Level, I understand both the subject knowledge and exam technique required to achieve strong results.
I am currently studying at the University of Exeter and am fully DBS checked, with several years of experience working with children and young people. My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging and tailored to each student. I aim to identify gaps in understanding, explain difficult concepts clearly and build confidence through targeted practice and exam-style questions.
I also have first-hand experience of competitive independent and grammar school admissions, including receiving offers and scholarships, which is particularly valuable for students preparing for the 11+.
I take professionalism seriously and prepare carefully for every lesson. My goal is not simply to help students complete work, but to help them understand the material, become more confident learners and make measurable academic progress.

Teaching techniques & methodology
I focus on making lessons clear, structured and tailored to the individual student. I first identify any gaps in understanding, then build confidence through clear explanations, worked examples and targeted practice. For exam students, lessons also include past-paper questions, exam technique, time management and strategies for gaining marks efficiently. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Typical lesson length
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged when appropriate, particularly for exam preparation or intensive revision.
Qualifications & experience
I achieved A/A* grades at GCSE and A-Level and have experience of the competitive independent and grammar school admissions process, including receiving offers and scholarships. I am currently studying at the University of Exeter, am DBS checked, and have several years of experience working with children. I have also helped students improve academically, including supporting a GCSE Maths student from a Grade 7 to a Grade 9 within six months.
