About Kalon
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 10 years experience as an accomplished singer-songwriter, music director vocal coach. Please check out my "Live Session Showreel" video to hear what I sound like!
I worked for 4 years as the Musical Director and Vocal coach of the Urban Voices Collective, the official choir of the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic games, the Baftas 2013 and 2015, the Royal Variety Performance 2013, and the Invictus opening and closing ceremonies.
I have appeared and performed on UK, European and US Television.
I've performed with artists like Paloma Faith, Andrea Bocelli, Sigma, Labrinth, Diversity Lionel Richie, George Michael, Gary Barlow, The Who, Coldplay, Muse, Take That, Guy Barker, producer David Arnold, Tim Rice, Elbow, Ray Davies, Kymberly Wyatt, Spiritualized, Muse, , Sarah Jane Morris and Ian Shaw.
I've worked closely with all types of singers. I've built my own singing teaching technique on the voices of real, working singers, and I've been able to help many professionals and beginners alike truly find their own voices.
I bring a depth of professional experience and knowledge to those who are eager to expand their minds, talents, and skills. I offer quality and personalised service.

- Tell me about your qualifications.
I completed the Theatre and Drama course at the Teatro S. Genesio in Salerno, Italy
- How much do you charge?
For every 1 hour lesson: £50
For every 3 lessons booked in advance you'll receive a discounted rate of £40 per lesson
For lessons in your home, additional expenses will apply. (Usually £10 extra for travel cost and time).
For lesson at the Warren St studio (if available) additional expenses will apply.
I operate a 48hr cancellation policy.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my own place in Clapham North.
I am willing to travel within reason (London bounds). At the moment I have students as far as Harlesden.
I can also rent a studio in the Warren street area.
- When are you available?
I am available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - 12pm until 7pm
Occasional Saturdays and Sundays at additional cost.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages/levels
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students for GCSE, A level and University Degree & Drama School Auditions.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can arrange lessons via Skype or Facetime
- Do you have a personal message for students?
As nerves and tension can really affect the voice, I aim to create a fun and non-judgemental atmosphere – encouraging students to play with their voices and learn through their mistakes. I believe that each individual voice is a different instrument, and sometimes all it takes to really understand the material is a considerate teacher who knows how to teach at your pace.

What can I say!
There is a me before Roberto's method and an after.
A simple method that you see results with straight away. It has helped me to get a better understanding of my voice and given me effective tools that I can apply in an instant when I am finding something more challenging to sing than usual.
It is fun and informative to explore your different cavities and get reacquainted with your voice and body.I love lessons with Roberto. He makes me reach notes I didn't know I had with such ease.
He focusses mainly on vocal health so I am always reassured I'm not damaging my voice in any way. His teaching technique is unique, nothing like I've ever experienced before.I have visited many singing teachers over the years but the way in which Roberto helps you develop your vocal range through vowel placement, and having fun in the process, makes him stand out at the best vocal coach that London has to offer. I would highly recommend him. He will find you some notes in your range that you never knew existed
Roberto is a fabulous vocal coach and teacher who worked with me over several years to build my voice and vocal confidence. My learning was ear based as I don't read music but this was no obstacle to my learning. I absolutely loved my lessons with Roberto which were rigorous but lots of fun and I thoroughly recommend him to both professional and amateur singers – Roberto will bring out the best in you!
