About Madeleine
With 7 years of flute teaching experience, I have had the privilege of teaching High School, College, and adult students, totalling around 150-200 learners. I aim to create lessons that are engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s abilities and goals. My approach combines technical skill development, creativity, and musical expression.
A milestone I am proud of was helping a student who had never performed before deliver a beautiful recital. Seeing their confidence and joy reinforced my dedication to teaching. I strive to provide a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to grow, express themselves, and enjoy every step of their musical journey.

My flute teaching methodology is designed to make learning practical, enjoyable, and inspiring. I use real-life examples and case studies to help students connect music theory to performance, making lessons meaningful and easy to apply. I emphasise motivation, encouraging students to stay confident, curious, and passionate about their learning.
Problem-solving is a key part of my approach. I guide students through technical and musical challenges, fostering independence and skill development. Integrity is central to my teaching, promoting discipline, honesty, and respect for music. I maintain flexibility, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style.
Besides flute, I teach related subjects like music theory and fundamentals to provide a complete foundation. My goal is to make every lesson productive, engaging, and enjoyable, helping students grow creatively, technically, and personally.
