About Crystal
Hi! I'm Crystal and I'm currently a high school senior who has played the piano for 13 years, with 10+ years of performance and competition experience. I'm approachable, extroverted and super passionate about music, and I would love to work with you or your beginner student to help get them started on the piano! I've traveled internationally for all sorts of summer programs, festivals and music competitions, and I am well-versed in the competition world of the Bay Area. Looking forward to meeting you!

Because I myself am currently a high school student, I have much more recently gone through the various experiences and processes of the pre-collegiate music world and am very familiar with how to navigate it. I'm looking to give lessons to beginners just starting to learn how to play the piano, and I am willing to work in-depth one on one with kids who are just starting to learn what a keyboard is and how to work it.
A typical lesson will depend on how far we work in the curriculum, but I will start off your beginner student with the basics, working through scales, arpeggios and all sorts of technique, and then once those are mastered we can move on to learning pieces, how to memorize and perform them.
