About Álvaro
Álvaro Cotarelli is a composer and musician, studied violin (EMESP) and piano (EMMSP, Souza Lima). As a fellow, he was a guitar student at Conservatório Souza Lima, integrating his Guitar Orchestra. He took harmony lessons with the trombonist and composer Itacyr Bocato and was his assistant in the Mixed Salad course (SESC / Consolação), as well as guitarist for the band Big Bang Soul. In 2019, he graduated in Music, with a degree in Composition from FMU | FIAM-FAAM, where he also served as violist, archivist and assistant to the Academic Orchestra. Author of the monograph “In Modern Times: Charlie Chaplin's Scenic Music”. As a composer, he has in his repertoire several works for solo piano, orchestra, and songs for rock formation, jazz themes, escapes to four voices, choral pieces and several compositions for strings.

Hello! I have a degree in Music - Bachelor of Composition from FMU / FIAM-FAAM, having been a scholarship student, performing the functions of assistant and archivist of the Academic Orchestra FMU / FIAM-FAAM during the years 2018 and 2019. Surely you have heard about "find your own voice" in the composition. Want to understand what this is? How to get there? There is no mystery ... the composer must master writing techniques just as a soloist masters the instrument, becoming capable of structuring music independent of the aesthetic process. The theoretical reference material for the elaboration of classes comes mainly (but not only) from the bibliography of educators and composers Arnold Schoenberg and Olivier Messiaen.
