About Katrin
I play saxophone since I was 14. This instrument inspired me so much that I had decided to study music (saxophone, clarinet, flute, composition). Since my studies in Essen and New York - I teach children and adults, lead music classes and orchestra - I teach students at the Folkwang Hochschule in saxophone, didactics - offer Skype lessons and online saxophone courses; meanwhile 4 courses for beginners and advanced - since 2018 I organize together with Sven Decker the saxophone camp, a saxophone workshop for advanced players - play concerts with my own projects all over Germany and internationally - released CDs on my own label GREEN DEER MUSIC (meanwhile 7 CDs under own name)

I teach beginners, advanced and professionals. My learning methods are the essence of my pedagogical experience over the past 20 years. This includes musical and educational influences from Joe Allard, Dave Liebman, Jerry Bergonzi, Sigurd Raschèr, out of which I create my own teaching concepts. My lessons contain the most important aspects of the saxophone playing and are very student-centered in the conception and choice of reperia. These aspects include the following topics: for beginners: - correct posture, approach, breathing, sound, sound, music theory, music reading you play the sounds in the range of 2 octaves (C '- C "') on the saxophone - playing from major scales to 3 cross and 3 B signs (C, F, B, E, G, D, A major); and the chromatic scale from C 'to C "- instructions for correct and effective practice for advanced students: - Basics: sound exercises, rhythm, timing, technique, sound effects on the instrument - Improvement of the sound quality through specific exercises for weak registers on the instrument - Music theory, harmony, ear training for professionals: - intensive improvement of the basics of saxophone playing: - body perception; Play attitude (stand, sit); sound; Tonvorstellung; Breathing; Approach, mouthpiece exercises; Air duct; tone control; Rhythm, timing; Blade processing - overtones; Altissimo Register / High Notes - practicing, exercising; Vom-Blatt-Spiel - Repertoire selection - ear training, harmony, composition
