About Guy
Hi, my name is Guy! I am a professional woodwind player in the Manhattan New York area, performing in orchestras, pit bands, big bands, and as a soloist. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with my Master's Degree. For almost a decade, I have been teaching Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute to students of all ages and skill levels. Much of my curriculum will prepare students for NYSSMA and ARSM exams, but it will also improve on the students' understanding of their instrument and musicality. I would be happy to be your teacher if you are looking to improve your skills on saxophone, clarinet, flute, or learn more about music theory. I teach in person and online, so please reach out for a free first lesson. We will discuss your goals and find a lesson plan that works for you!

My lessons are customized to your goals and needs. I have taught students from how to put their instrument together, all the way to advanced level performing. Here are some example lessons: BEGINNER - Breath Control, Proper Embouchure, Finger Technique - Reading Notation and Understanding Rhythms - Playing simple pieces to form musicality - Scales and Arpeggios INTERMEDIATE - Learning to play various styles such as Jazz and Rock - Improvised Solos and reading Lead Sheets - Practicing exercises that Expand your Technique - Learning secret tricks on your instrument - Performance etiquette and playing more difficult pieces ADVANCED - Performing and learning music by memory - Mastery of all 12 Major and Minor keys - Playing with emotion and understanding of the music - Extended Techniques such as Overtones, Altissimo, and Double Tongue - Ear Training and Transcribing music

Perfect! First, Guy is wonderful at giving useful recommendations regarding supplies and at communicating promptly and clearly. He came to our house for my daughter's first clarinet lesson. She has no prior knowledge of music except for what she learnt at her music class at her local public school. Guy was amazing at teaching her the first steps. My daughter is now even more excited to learn the clarinet than she was at first. Outstanding experience so far!

Guy is an excellent teacher. He is patient and allows students to make mistakes. Helpfully demonstrating each part that a pupil might have qualms about, Guy is always supportive. Most importantly, he challenges students with difficult pieces so as to greatly add to their ability. This is why I would recommend Guy.
Guy is an awesome teacher for all woodwinds. He has been an asset to our studio in Holbrook for many years and we would recommend him for anyone who wants to become a better musician. Caring and professional at all times.
