About Catherine
I can't wait to be your tutor! I graduated from Fort Lewis College in May of 2020 with my bachelors in Exercise Physiology. I also earned a Spanish minor while I was there. I then graduated with a Masters in Education from Fort Lewis College in December of 2022. I have been teaching science to middle school students for two years. I have tutoring experience with grades K-12 and I can't wait to tutor you!

I am a hands-on science educator who loves to find ways to connect learning to the world, even though tutoring is remote. I am kind, hold high expectations, and believe that learning should be student-centered.
A typical lesson plan for my students would start by reviewing the skills that we practiced in the last lesson or skills that the student is supposed to be practicing at school. We would then move into the lesson content for the day, whatever the student needs help with or what they are covering in school. After a short block of direct instruction, we would move into practice time. Practice time looks different for each lesson and depends on the content of an instruction. At the end of a session, the student will have an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the topic we covered during the session.
As a tutor, I am set apart by my eduction, my passion for helping students grow, and my time spent in the tutoring system as a student. I understand the importance of not making tutoring simply feel like "more school", unless the student specifically requests it or the students academic level determines that this setting is beneficial for the student.
I am able to tutor all grade-level students in the subjects of science and math. I can tutor collegiate level health and sciences and exercise sciences majors.
