About Wathsala
My name is Wathsala, and I’m a Biology tutor with over 10 years of academic and teaching experience, both internationally and in Canada. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Nutrition and recently completed an Associate of Arts in Education in British Columbia. My teaching journey has taken me from classrooms in Sri Lanka to Canadian colleges and school districts, where I’ve worked with students of all levels and backgrounds. I specialize in making Biology clear, engaging, and relevant—whether you're preparing for a high school exam, struggling with university coursework, or simply looking to improve your understanding. My lessons are designed to simplify complex ideas, strengthen critical thinking, and build your confidence step by step.

I break complex concepts into manageable steps, developing the fundamental knowledge to more advanced applications. I use diagrams, flowcharts, videos, and animations to make abstract biological processes more tangible. During the first 5-10 minutes, I make a review of the previous materials and hold a pop-up quiz. During the next 20-25 minutes, the Introduction to the new lesson is given with the link to the previous lessons. During the next 30 min, an application activity is planned such as solving problems or designing a practical activity. During the last 10 minutes, I always clarify the doubts and summarize the key points of the day's lesson. I have strong adaptability to suit the academic background and the learning style of the student. I always provide support in simple English along with scientific vocabulary. I go beyond content delivery by supporting students with study techniques, motivation, and long-term academic planning. I offer tutoring for Middle school students in all Chemistry, Physics, and Biology in Canadian and British curriculum. High school students in Biology in Canadian and British curriculum. As well support undergraduate students in first and second years in areas like Cell Biology, Genetics, Human Physiology, and Biochemistry
