About Emily
I am a second year music student at The University of York and I hold a singing diploma, distinction grade 8 flute, grade 6 saxophone and distinction in Grade 5 theory. I also have A levels in Music, Philosophy and Ethics and Art. As well as EPQ and As level English literature. I'm also very adventurous and have achieved my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

I teach my classes in different ways due to specialisms. For example, I teach music theory as a workshop rather than a lesson, where I will teach examples and then we will do questions and answers. For peripatetic lessons I often teach technique, warm-ups and then focus on repertoire. When I teach music analysis, I often split musical analysis up into sections such as melody, harmony, structure and instrumentation to help divide the musical work up into chunks. I teach, we do, we revise.
