About Olivia
I am originally from Townsville, Queensland and moved to Melbourne after finishing high school, for university. I wanted to expand my experiences and completely step out of my comfort zone. I enjoy reading, dance, drama and running. During school I was involved in a range of extracurricular activities within my school community and the wider Townsville community which allowed me to work with many different types of people. I am enthusiastic, honest, I enjoying problem solving and love to get involved. The positions of School Captain and School Prefect in high school offered me more insight into leadership, community and life than I ever could have imagined and have helped me grow immensely. The skills I’ve acquired, I am hoping to develop further into the future and I believe tutoring will help me do so. I have casually tutored my sibling and neighbours in the past however have not professionally stepped into the role. With the knowledge I have acquired in the past year from my university subjects of Psychology, Literature and Dance, I am confident that I will be able to provide a high standard of teaching and advice to students.

My lessons will be an individualised approach aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the subject I am teaching and will allow for targeted instruction to address specific areas of improvement. I strongly believe that a confident learner is a successful learner and will always encourage, never humiliate. Whether a student is struggling with a particular concept or wants to dive deeper into a specific topic, my tutoring will provide the necessary support and guidance. I always aim to be calm, patient, attentive and respectful and my lessons will be targeted, efficient, bespoke and relaxed. The way I tutor, structure lessons and even ask questions will be informed by the student, their ability and where they stand in their development within the subject.
