About Alex
I've been playing drums since I am 15 y.o. I am mostly self taught, but I also took some lessons. I played in a rock band when I was in college and did a jazz workshop. For the past 5 years, I started learning bass, taking some lessons with a teacher. My musical interests go from the Beatles to Rush. I can teach rock music, blues, progressive and some basic jazz.

I will teach you the basics of drumming. We will start with fundamental techniques, for example how to hold the drum sticks properly in the matched grip and how to tune your drum. Then, we'll start right away with a simple 4/4 beat! Then you'll learn some basic notions of musical theory that drummers need to know (tempo, time signature). You will learn how to play not only in 4/4, but also in other time signatures such as 3/4, 5/4, 7/8, 9/8, 12/8. You will learn the most important rudiments and once you are ready, we will explore different styles of drumming, such as blues and jazz and even some double bass drums. The most important thing will be to have fun while playing!
