About Orson
I have a professional background directing drama, and documentaries for the BBC, ITV and C4 TV and music videos for major record labels including Polydor, Island and EMI. I did a fully funded PhD at the University of East London and have taught at numerous universities and film schools including Ravensbourne University, University of East London, Central Film School, Middlesex University, Sheffield Hallam University and the London Film School. I am a graduate of the Northern Media School and The National Film and Television School advanced program.

I will draw on my own professional background directing drama, documentaries and music video and my PhD level academic qualifications to support you through the production process. We will cover research, scripting, funding, interview technique, storyboarding, scheduling, camera work, working with actors, working with a crew, postproduction and distribution. Typical lessons will last two hours and be focused on film, analysis, practical exercises, and production planning. The course will be geared towards the supervised production of a specific film project the student wants to make.
