About Axel
I have been tutoring chess for 7 years, working mostly with high school and college students. Teaching is my passion, and I love helping students discover the joy and challenge of chess. Over the years, I have taught between 150 and 200 students, guiding them to improve their skills and develop critical thinking. One of my proudest achievements is helping several students win local and regional chess competitions. Seeing their growth and confidence increase motivates me every day. I focus on creating lessons that are clear, fun, and tailored to each student’s needs. My goal is to inspire students to think deeply and enjoy the game of chess. I believe learning chess helps not just with the game, but also with problem-solving and decision-making in life. I look forward to helping more students reach their full potential.

Creativity plays a big role in chess, and I encourage students to think outside the box. I teach strategies and problem-solving skills that develop their ability to plan moves ahead and adapt to changing situations on the board. Lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, combining practice games with analysis to build confidence and skill gradually. Besides chess, I also offer support in related subjects like logical thinking, concentration, and basic maths skills. I tailor my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and pace, whether they are beginners or more advanced players. My goal is to help students grow both as chess players and critical thinkers in a patient and compassionate way.
