About Alexis
I’m a singing tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus in Voice. My true passion lies in vocal storytelling, especially through Jazz Standards, Broadway solos, and the Golden Age repertoire. I love helping singers unlock the emotional depth and musical nuances in timeless classics. Whether it’s learning to swing a phrase, add tasteful jazz ornamentation, or bring a character to life through song, I guide each student with care and precision. I specialize in lead sheet reading and interpreting music with both style and authenticity. My teaching blends vocal technique with dramatic insight, helping students shape each note into something meaningful. I’ve worked with passionate adult learners, seasoned community theater actors, and singers returning to their voice after years away. Every voice has a story, and I’m here to help tell it with confidence and color. Together, we’ll explore phrasing, breath control, vocal dynamics, and stage presence. I believe in balancing musical accuracy with emotional truth. Lessons are always personalized and progress at your pace. As a singing tutor with a deep passion for performance, I design each lesson to bring out the unique voice and story within every student. My approach blends technical training with storytelling, emotional expression, and vocal character work to help singers connect deeply with their music. Whether it’s learning to act through a song, mastering dramatic timing, or building stage confidence, I tailor each session to meet the student where they are.
Some students come with performance experience, others are just beginning to find their voice—and both are welcome. I’m skilled at guiding learners of different speeds and emotional needs, offering encouragement and structure in equal measure. Lessons often explore phrasing, breath support, dynamic expression, and interpreting lyrics in meaningful ways. I love helping students step into a character and tell a story, whether preparing for a recital or leading a worship service.
