About Hazel
I have extensive experience teaching guitar to learners of all ages, guiding them to develop technique and artistic expression simultaneously. My approach is patient, encouraging, and highly adaptable, ensuring students feel supported while progressing steadily. I help students explore their individual musical voice, emphasizing creativity alongside technical growth. Lessons are designed to be challenging, motivating, and enjoyable, giving learners a meaningful connection to music. Outside of teaching, I perform, compose, and collaborate with other musicians. These experiences allow me to bring real-world insights, inspiration, and artistry into every lesson, enriching the student’s learning journey.

My guitar lessons focus on balancing technical mastery with creative expression. Each session blends exercises, repertoire practice, and improvisation to help students develop skill while enjoying the creative process. Lessons are personalized to each learner’s level, musical interests, and long-term goals.
Beginners start with chord shapes, finger placement, and basic strumming. Intermediate learners refine picking patterns, dynamics, and phrasing, while advanced students focus on improvisation, tone shaping, and performance preparation. I also integrate ear training, theory, and composition exercises to enhance musical understanding.
Every lesson emphasizes playing with confidence and emotion, helping students connect with the guitar as a tool for personal expression and artistry. My aim is for every student to develop skill, creativity, and a lasting passion for music.
