About Mercy
I hold a Master’s degree in music with a focus on performance, which gives me both academic knowledge and practical stage experience. Over seven years of teaching, I have developed methods that blend theory, creativity, and discipline. My goal has always been to make learning guitar an enjoyable, rewarding, and structured journey for anyone who picks up the instrument. Beyond teaching, I have performed in various settings, from small acoustic gatherings to larger band events, which allows me to bring real-world experience into lessons. I understand the challenges students face when transitioning from practice to performance, and I use this insight to guide them in building confidence and stage presence. Sharing not only the techniques but also the mindset of performing is an important part of what I offer. As a tutor, I believe in patience, adaptability, and encouragement. Every student’s progress is celebrated, no matter how small, and I emphasize steady improvement over unrealistic expectations. My teaching style is approachable yet structured, helping students stay motivated without pressure. I see the guitar not just as an instrument but as a lifelong companion, and I aim to help others discover the same connection.

Learning guitar with me means building a strong foundation that goes beyond memorizing songs. My lessons are structured to gradually introduce core techniques such as chords, strumming, and timing, while also incorporating creativity and self-expression. Students are encouraged to blend technical skills with musical intuition, ensuring they grow into confident players capable of adapting to different genres and styles.
Each lesson is designed to be engaging and practical, focusing on hands-on playing rather than theory overload. While music theory is introduced, it is always tied directly to real-world application on the guitar, helping students connect abstract ideas with sounds they can actually produce. This approach keeps motivation high and makes progress feel natural, whether the student is a complete beginner or already has some experience.
Flexibility is central to my teaching. Every learner comes with different goals—some may want to play for personal enjoyment, while others may be preparing for performance or recording. I customize lessons based on these individual needs, ensuring that students achieve results aligned with their aspirations. Whether it’s mastering fingerstyle, improvising solos, or accompanying songs, each session is a step toward becoming a versatile guitarist.
