I’m a violin tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Violin Studies. My background spans solo, chamber, and orchestral performance, and I specialize in guiding students through competitive audition processes. My teaching approach blends violin playing with clear, accessible music theory. I believe that knowing the “why” behind what you play helps you grow faster and perform with more confidence. We’ll focus on understanding keys, scales, intervals, and chord theory—all directly on the fingerboard. Theory won’t feel like a separate subject; it will come alive through your instrument.
In our lessons, I guide you in recognizing patterns and relationships between notes, so you can make smart choices in phrasing and interpretation. We’ll use creative exercises, quick theory warm-ups, and real music examples to make learning stick. This method is especially helpful for exam-focused learners who need strong aural and theoretical understanding.
I'm especially good at helping Choir Members and Musical Theatre Enthusiasts connect their ear training and harmony knowledge to violin technique.
