About Nathan
I attended UT Arlington as a Philosophy Major from 2021-2023, and I am now doing a year of volunteering with AmeriCorps. Writing is an excellent career skill and an exciting thing to do in general! That's why I hope to help students who want to improve their writing abilities; being able to convey your ideas persuasively and effectively can take you far in life. While I try to keep things light and relaxed, I am, of course, a professional. I will always treat my students with respect, and I will always take their concerns seriously. It is important that my students trust me and understand the limits of our relationship.

My teaching style is very relaxed. I expect that you won't do as you're told "just because." Rather, I will always give you a reason for why I think you ought to do things a certain way, and you will always have the right to disagree and write in your style when you honestly think it's better that way.
I expect that my students will be people who want to work on improving their essay-writing skills at any level of their education. Usually, I bounce on this by asking you to show me some of your writing and making comments or suggestions on it. Lessons will be casual and discussion-based (provided it is convenient for us both). If we are meeting regularly, I may assign practice essay prompts so that we have subject material for the next time and you may continuously be practicing what we learn.
