About Eliza
My passion for Spanish began through a fascination with language rhythm, cultural expression, and meaningful communication across communities. I pursued a B.A. in Hispanic Studies followed by an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, which allowed me to explore both cultural depth and language structure. Over 12 years of teaching, I have supported learners of all ages in building clarity, confidence, and genuine connection with the Spanish language.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, adaptability, and understanding individual learning styles. I believe language learning should feel supportive and empowering rather than intimidating. I take time to identify each student’s challenges and strengths, shaping lessons that encourage curiosity, consistency, and confidence.
Outside the classroom, I stay engaged with Spanish through literature, media, language research, and cultural studies. These experiences continuously enrich my teaching approach. Teaching Spanish is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners grow from hesitation into confident communicators who enjoy expressing themselves freely and authentically.

Spanish lessons become most effective when learners feel encouraged to actively use the language rather than fear making mistakes. My lessons are designed to build confidence through structured speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities that reflect real-life communication. I focus on pronunciation clarity, grammatical understanding, vocabulary expansion, and conversational flow, helping students connect language rules with practical usage. Each lesson is paced carefully to allow understanding to develop naturally, without pressure or overwhelm.
I adapt lesson content based on each student’s level and learning goals. Beginners focus on foundational grammar, sentence construction, pronunciation accuracy, and everyday expressions. Intermediate learners strengthen conversational skills, verb usage, listening comprehension, and paragraph writing. Advanced students refine fluency, idiomatic expression, reading analysis, and academic or professional communication. Continuous feedback, guided practice, and contextual examples help learners progress steadily and confidently.
Learning Spanish also supports broader personal development. Students often gain stronger memory, improved listening skills, and greater cultural curiosity. Many become more confident expressing themselves and engaging with new perspectives. My goal is to help learners feel comfortable, capable, and motivated while developing long-lasting Spanish communication skills.
