About Pia
Hi, I am Pia Rodriguez, a third year science student at Amsterdam University College. I was born and raised in Chile, and thus I'm native in Spanish. I learn english in my 20s and therefore I understand the complexity and challenge to learn a new language, I know is hard but EVERYONE CAN DO IT! and I am here to help :). I have tutored Spanish over the past two years to other students at my University and now I would like to expand the market to other places in Amsterdam. I believe that a combination of structure and flexibility for students is a key to success. First I would like to know what is your level and what are your goals. I will send you some questions in Spanish by email to see your reading comprehension level and then we can meet up for a coffee to assess how much you can understand when I speak. From there we work together towards your goal. For instance if you want to go to Spain for holidays and be able to move around, then we focus on speaking areas and casual conversation. Now, if you want to go on an exchange to a Spanish-speaking university, we focus on a more academic level. In sum, my teaching methodology adapts to each student, some people are faster and others struggle a bit more with grammar. Just remember not to give up and I'll be there along the way!
