About Timothy
I am a May 2020 college graduate from Olivet Nazarene University that majored in Criminal Justice & Spanish. I started learning Spanish in high school and loved it and continued it in college and decided to major in the language. I have taken several college courses in Spanish, have an Advanced-Low Oral Proficiency Certification in the Spanish Language from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, mentored two students for a school year helping them grow in their abilities to understand and speak the Spanish language, studied abroad in Costa Rica for a semester to further learn the language and Latin American culture and perspectives, was a Spanish Teacher's Assistant and Tutor my last semester of college tutoring students during my tutor hours, participated in helping interpret parent-teacher conferences for Spanish-speaking parents and families at northern Illinois high schools, completed my Spanish senior project where I completed and in-depth 15-page research paper in Spanish observing violence in Latin America and gave a presentation in Spanish on it, and on occasion help take customers' orders in Spanish at my current job at Krispy Kreme. I love learning foreign languages and seek to grow in my abilities in the Spanish language and seek to help others do the same.

I am best able to tutor Spanish from beginner to intermediate levels students. I base my tutoring on the needs of the student and what they want to get out of the tutoring session. I like to create fun ways to learn Spanish, such as finding fun activities and games to help build oral expression and comprehension in the language. I also like to use whiteboards for tutoring.
