About Hollye
Hello! I am a languages graduate and former professional journalist, available to provide tuition at all levels in Spanish and Media Studies. Be it Spanish or English, writing creatively or having a conversation, I love language and it is incredibly rewarding when I see that enthusiasm develop in others. I am friendly, patient and dedicated, and love seeing students fulfil their potential.
I am fully DBS-checked, and have an excellent academic record with a BA First Class degree in Spanish and Italian, and a Masters in Journalism.
I've had a long and varied career in journalism and communications, both in the UK and in Spain and have a strong and up-to-date grasp of the changing media landscape, as well as culture, literature and language. I also have experience working in Admissions in a well-respected independent school, so fully understand the British education sector and its academic requirements.
I like to start working with every new student by having an initial discussion to explore what they hope to get out of tuition, and can then tailor lesson plans accordingly. I like to challenge students academically, but equally understand that everyone learns at a different pace and in a different way. I use a varied range of materials for tutoring, from audio and video to written stimuli, in order to make the sessions engaging and fun.
