About Laura
I am a dynamic, results-driven management consultant, holding a law degree (LLB) as well as an MBA from Saïd Business School, Oxford University. I have a particular passion for working on projects that are socially beneficial and impactful, while still delivering on business objectives.
I earned a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a specialization in Adminstrative and Public Law from the same university (graduating with the highest score in my class). My first years of professional experience were held at one of the most established foreign trade and competition law firms in Colombia, where I was named Associate to Watch by Chambers & Partners in 2015. My role included providing legal advice in the areas of international trade, competition law, antitrust and customs.
Driven by the wish to be impactful through large scale projects, I took up a position as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, where I gained experience working across a range of industries. I resigned to study an MBA after being accepted into the Weidenfeld-Hoffman scholarship and leadership programme. I am currently working as the UK Digital Programme & Partnerships Manager in London for Generation (a non-profit founded by Mckinsey & Company to help bridge the skills gap).
I’m a strong believer that consulting and law are two professions which complement each other, since it can be difficult to give a legal opinion without an understanding of the economic feasibility, nor a strategic recommendation without considering the legal implications.
During the quarantine I got trapped in South Africa and I want to work in something I love: teaching my language.

I’ve being giving Spanish lessons to English speaking children and young adults for the past 4 years. My methodology includes theory and a lot of practice. The best way to learn a language is to interact 100% in that language.
