About Genevieve
I am a special education teacher, a lacrosse coach, a mom to 2 kids under 3. I have been a teacher for 6 years and enjoy working in schools. I am able to work on a variety of skills with students who need support through Individual Education Plans, or just students who need to catch up a little without falling behind. I have had success with working with students on understanding concepts they might not understand in the classroom, but in small groups and a little rewording can get them to where they need to be!

I try to make learning as fun as possible. Any time I can incorporate games that involve learning, I will. A typical lesson will include the main instructional part that I am focusing on with the student, a progress monitoring portion, and then a fun activity at the end. I am a certified special education teacher in the state of Michigan. I have worked with a variety of abilities of students who qualify for special education, including visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically and cognitively impaired. I can work with students who are in K-12th grade to help support reading and math deficits, or who just need extra help with assignments.
