About Lily
I am a violin tutor with over 7 years of experience and a BM in Music Education, specializing in Orchestral Strings. My teaching focuses on youth orchestras, group violin classes, and string ensembles. I emphasize chamber music, collaboration, and expressive playing. My skills include section leading, ensemble tuning, dynamics, and team musicianship. I have worked with schools, community centers, and chamber groups to create diverse musical experiences. Each rehearsal nurtures listening, communication, and cohesion within the ensemble. I help students develop confidence in their role and in the group. Collaborative playing fosters patience, creativity, and shared achievement. I guide ensembles toward expressive, polished performances. Watching students grow as a team is deeply rewarding. My teaching method focuses on building a strong foundation in bowing. I guide students in tone production, dynamic control, and articulation. Various bowing strokes like detaché, spiccato, and legato are practiced systematically. Bow arm control exercises strengthen precision and flexibility. Posture, hand coordination, and bow hold are included in every session. Lessons are designed to be personalized and supportive. Students learn to play expressively while maintaining technical accuracy. Exercises improve consistency, sound clarity, and musical phrasing. The approach balances technical development with musical enjoyment. Students gain confidence in producing rich, beautiful violin tones. They also develop listening skills and awareness of dynamics.
