• 1) When did you develop an interest in your field and tutoring?

  I fell in love with cardiology during medical school: the heart is logical, dynamic, and never boring. Tutoring came naturally when I realized I actually enjoy explaining things and people understand me easily.

• 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach cardiology, ECG (EKG) interpretation, echocardiography, plus microbiology and pathology for nursing students. I especially love ECGs and echo - once they click, students gain instant confidence. I also guide med students through USMLE and NCLEX preparation. Memorization-heavy topics are less fun, but we survive them together 😉

• 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Yes - My attending physician in cardiology residency, a person who was calm, practical, and honest. He taught medicine in a human way, and that stuck with me.

• 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Clarity, patience, kindness, and knowing your limits. A good tutor adapts to the student, not the other way around.

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  ECGs once confused me too - until someone called them “the heart’s handwriting.” Now I use the same idea, and I love seeing that aha! moment.

• 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

  Cardiology is intense and always evolving. From undergoing training in Cardiac ICU, doing procedures like angiography, pacemaker implantation, thoracentesis, and pericardiocentesis, there’s always more to master - but that’s part of the fun.

• 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  Making complex medical topics simple, practical, and stress-free.
