About Charlotte
Hello! My name is Charlotte and I am a native French speaker from Paris currently living in London and offering French lessons for any level. I have a background in languages and literature (Children Literature MA at the University of Glasgow and English Literature BA at UCL) and have previously taught French in large group settings as well as in one-on-one settings to mature students mostly. I also have some experience with children, as I have regularly tutored my younger sibling throughout middle and high school with his homework (English language, and French literature in particular.)

I value oral expression, and I believe spoken practice is an effective method to quickly become comfortable with a language. I encourage oral participation from my students and I make sure to create a study-environment in which they feel safe and comfortable enough to express themselves. In terms of written expression and reading comprehension, depending on the student's level, I make sure that basic grammar/spelling rules are understood, and encourage the student(s) to be creative in their expression. I think studying a language needs to be a dynamic process rather than simply absorbing information, and therefore I place emphasis on producing oral and written materials to make sure that the student feels at ease with the language.
