About Mariam
I’m a high-energy high school junior who loves turning confusing English assignments into “ohhh, that makes sense now” moments. As founder of a teen career website and Vice President of my school’s Principal’s Council, I’m used to explaining ideas clearly to students and adults, running meetings, and creating content people actually want to read. I’ve kept a 3.9 GPA in all Honors and AP classes while managing clubs, research projects, and volunteering, so I know how to juggle a busy schedule and stay organized. As a tutor, I focus on breaking down essays, close reading, and homework into simple steps so students feel confident instead of stressed.

My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and focused on helping students truly understand what they are learning. I break down complex reading and writing concepts into simple, manageable steps and explain ideas in clear, straightforward language. I focus on building strong foundations in grammar, reading comprehension, and writing while helping students gain confidence in their abilities.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in and review of previous material. Then we focus on one main skill, such as essay structure, paragraph development, grammar rules, literary analysis, or reading strategies. Students practice with guidance, and I give clear feedback throughout the session. Each lesson ends with a short recap and tips students can use on their own.
What sets me apart is my strong communication skills, advanced Honors and AP English coursework, and a 3.9 GPA. As a student leader and founder, I am organized, dependable, and experienced in explaining ideas clearly. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I work best with elementary and middle school students who want help with English Language Arts, writing, grammar, reading comprehension, and building academic confidence, and who benefit from learning with a high school peer.
