About Emily
I'm currently a full-time Junior level student studying English Literature at CUNY, Hunter College. I was previously studying English Literature at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During my time at school, I've maintained a 4.0 GPA, and have tutored students on English-related coursework. I frequently write academic papers for classes, and receive high marks on those.
I've worked as a teaching assistant, and gained knowledge on what professors are looking for, and how to excel in classes.
Professionally, I've worked as a Business Development Coordinator at an internationally renowned law firm, where my English skills were put to practical use. During my year as a BD Coordinator, I often assisted in drafting legal pitches, marketing collateral, and correspondence to executive level staff and clients.
Along with a business style of writing, I also do much creative writing (and reading), for theater and short films.

I've had experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Charlotte, N.C.. As a TA, I've held office hours for students and tutored them on writing essays, proofreading, writing in general, and reading comprehension (especially on difficult class readings).
Along with this, I've worked as an independent freelance tutor during college, and have helped students gain a better understanding of course material, formatting and writing outlines and essays, test-taking, note-taking, and explaining class readings.
Some of my students have raised their class average by a full letter grade within weeks of working together.
